Switching Suppliers

A detailed description of the procedure of contracting with a supplier on the competitive market is provided below.

1. Preparation

The first and fundamental thing to do is to collect information on the energy consumption patterns and consumption data of the supply points, with special respect to the following:

  • number of supply points,
  • volume of yearly consumption,
  • nominal connection capacity,
  • acquiring and analysing load curves (if available).
2. Compliance with technological requirements of metering

In case of supply points with a nominal connection capacity exceeding 3x80 A, remote metering with 15-minute readings has to be installed, with the involvement of the distribution system operator.

3. Requesting competitive market offers

Now follows the request and evaluation of competitive market offers. Call Hungarian Electricity Supply Kft. with confidence on (+36 1) 2-377-877, or fill and submit our online request form.

4. Decision

Following the evaluation of offers, you will be able to decide about entering the market, and/or selecting the best retailer for your company. We suggest by all means that you take advantage of the personal consultation offered by our company.

5. Contracting a supplier

After your decision has been made, you can conclude an energy purchase agreement with the selected supplier. If commissioned, Hungarian Electricity Supply Kft. will take care of the matter of concluding network agreements (see item 7) with the regional distributor.

6. Reporting market entry and supplier switching

Changes have to be reported to the regional distributor by the 24th day of the second month prior to the date of market entry or supplier switching (e.g. by 24th November if the latter takes place on 1 January). This is the supplier’s task.

7. Contracting with the distributor

The conclusion of the network connection and network use agreements with the regional distributor is a very important step, for which Hungarian Electricity Supply Kft. provides assistance if required.

8. Cancelling current public utility supply or competitive market contract

The previous contract has to be cancelled 30 days prior to the date of market entry or supplier switching. In case you have signed a fixed-term contract with your supplier, the cancellation has to be adjusted to the date fixed in the contract.

9. Entering the market or switching suppliers

The procedure is concluded when your new competitive market energy supplier - hopefully our company, Hungarian Electricity Supply Kft. - delivers electricity to you.
